55 Pinellas schools recognized as America’s Healthiest Schools

America's Healthiest Schools

Fifty-five Pinellas County schools have been recognized as America’s Healthiest Schools by the Alliance for a Healthier Generation. The award honors schools for their commitment to the health and well-being of students and staff.

Four schools earned the All-Star Award for excellence across all nine areas of whole-child health:

  • Hollins High School
  • Douglas L. Jamerson, Jr. Elementary School
  • Mildred Helms Elementary School
  • San Jose Elementary School

The nine areas are social-emotional health and learning, staff well-being, family and community engagement, nutrition and food access, school wellness policies, physical education and activity, health education, tobacco-free schools and school health services.

The 2026 program recognized 1,376 K–12 schools nationwide, including just 200 All-Stars.
